As part of Summit Realty South West’s commitment to the local community the company has been a major sponsor of the Cancer Council of Western Australia’s Relay for Life programme. The Summit staff also gets involved by way of entering teams in the 24 hour relay and raise funds by organising a Gala charity in Bunbury each year.
The Charity Ball has become a big calendar event and is a sell out each year. Since Its inception in 2004 the Summit Charity ball has raised over $200,000 and together with the company’s sponsorship a total of over $250,000 has been contributed to The Cancer Council of Western Australia.
The local business community also get’s behind the ball by way of product and cash donations towards the ball and its auction and we would like to acknowledge their support, for without, this event would not be the great success it is.
The success of this fundraising effort prompted the staff at Summit as to what more they could do collectively to help the local community.
With this in mind last year it was decided to form the Summit Realty Charity Foundation with the view of expanding the recipients of our fundraising efforts to helping local people and organisations less fortunate than ourselves in the Greater Bunbury Region. To give the Foundation a kick start all the Summit sales representatives agreed to donate part proceeds of every sale.
As cancer in it’s many forms touches nearly all of us in the community in some way, be it personally, or someone close to us, it will still be the major focus of the Charity Foundation and as the foundation grows we hope to help as many needy people in the local community as we can.
